A-LIST: BLINDxx Creations SS13 (Official Lookbook)

If you read my last post, I'm sure you had this coming. Last week had been a very exciting week for us at local, online indie brand, Blind Clothing. We have just released our cut-and-sew line's spring-summer collection entitled: The A-List.  Hurray!! :)

The whole time we were developing this collection, we had the sophisticated, sexy, smart, confident, woman  in mind.  We were so happy that in the shooting of our look book---our model portrayed this so well. She really looked (and acted?) the part; a huge transformation from when we last shot her for in our A|W 2013 collection. Our HMUA and photographers also did an equally great job in bringing out out that "slightly spoiled young aristocrat" vibe (whilst making sure the clothes shine through) throughout the look book in consistent great quality. I'm always amazed at how a team of left-brained people can come in unison and create something beautiful and cohesive.  It's overwhelming (humbling even) being able to collaborate again with such talents, who, with their excellence in each of their fields, are able to bend a little and be good team players to meet your vision/ direction  :)

Ladies and gents, may our team present to you,
Blind Creations S|S 2013:
The A-List.

We know that the whole fashion world is celebrating summer like it is in the other side of the world, while it's starting to rain here in the Philippines. So we at BLINDxx tried to bring you the best of both worlds. I mean honestly, who's over midriff tops? :)) So we give you fitted midriff tops in sets that come in thick, textured material. We made  semi- silky slip dresses and slit skirts so you have the perfect inner wear to match your bombers and blazers with, or pair  your sweaters with, and still look sexy.  These are pieces that are friendly but luxurious enough to take you from day to night-- from shopping with the girls to a big dinner party-- something you can wear out on a hot day, or layer with on a cold day (atleast in the tropics).

This is a collection mainly pegged on chic luxe. With the influx of mass produced clothes coming into the market, this collection craves for:  good clothing structure and construction, and the subtle sexiness and elegance that understated but flattering shape and proportion gives the female body. It is a celebration of good print palettes, rich textures, and  sophisticated cuts.

Good news is, we are now open for orders.
Shop our latest collection here. Enjoy! :)

A-LIST: Blind Clothing SS|13

I remember when I landed back in Cebu from all the board exams shiz last March, the first thing I was so hasty to work on was Blind Clothing's next cut-and-sew collection. Ninz and I dug through our idea jar for inspirations, searched for fabric, and started working on prototypes and trying to get them right. I am not a fashion designer by profession but I don't recall being as obsessive compulsive in our pieces as much as I have now. I guess all the working with the furniture factory taught me the value of construction detail, putting dimensions in everything, keeping a keen eye on the every cut, and basically making it easy for the tailor to get it right. Fast forward to 4 months after, our 13-piece collection is finally complete. Hurray! :)

Our incoming collection is basically pegged on chic luxe. With the influx of clothes coming into the market like curry in hong kong, and kwek-kwek in the Philippines, we found ourselves looking for good clothing structure, good shape and proportion, good color palettes, and of course texture texture texture!

A good team of super talented artists were so kind as to collaborate with us in helping us come up with our look book just for you: Dexter and Shanida Maneja (photographers) , James Canete (hair and make-up), and Christine Morrill (model)... also the very warm and fun Chillage team were so accommodating as to let us shoot in their very chic home exuding with all sorts of good vibe and positive energy it almost makes you high!

So please please please...  come join as we launch "THE A-LIST" tomorrow, August 14 (Wednesday) at 8 on our facebook page!  Let me leave you with our teaser video! See you all! x

Aftershock: The James Canete SS2012 Collection

One of the most talented people I met at my alma mater was James Canete. The story was that after our family's trusted makeup artist (Ronnie Matudan) was in the process of recovering from a stroke, I had to look for another perfect makeup artist for my sister's JS Prom and fingers pointed to this man's direction. I met him then, and the rest was delightful history.

I've always known James to be a multi-talented man and a hard worker. Aside from being awarded best thesis of his batch, he is one who still inserts bookings a few hours before milestone events like our graduation day. And well, he just has a feisty attitude I can't help but enjoy. That's why when he told me about his first very own fashion show-- I swore I wouldn't miss it.

Before this gets all too cheesy, let me keep my inner drama queen to myself and talk about the show.
Brace yourselves. Here are my favorites that night.

Can I please steal the skirt and blazer on the left
This to me is so classy bec it has that edgy detail but still leaves the dress simple enough to draw attention and flatter the female bod
I love how this dress mixes geometry and print, extremely wearable too!
Obsessed with drape I am.

Designer James at the center

The event was held last April 28 at the Veranda of the JCenter Mall and I was lucky enough to be saved a seat along with my sister, Ninz. His collection was said to be inspired by the Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 and Alexander McQueen's Fall Winter 2012 collection. Themed "Aftershock", the collection featured a pattern-heavy, texture-rich, avant-garde display revolving around an earth-tone spectrum. I wouldn't fail to mention the tingle brought about by details like the uniform clay baked necklaces, aftershocked-hair and intimidating makeup! :)

Other contributing designers were Josei Cuizon, Orville Biongcog, Van Dale Dela Bajan, Pinky Magalona & shoe designer Aia Tupas.

Secrets at Sea: A Summer Editorial

-----------------------------------------
BLINDxx creations present:
SECRETS AT SEA

PHOTOGRAPHED: Matt Aesthetic
STYLISTS: Dawn Sy, Ninz Sy
MODEL: Jessika Knight
---------------------------------

The sea.

A threshold of all my secrets
My company in this tranquil solace

This sea.
Where lost ships live
and treasures

lay hidden.
where secrets and shadows lay dreaming.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you like the editorial we made just for you guys. Leave a comment and tell us what you think maybe?:)
I'd like to take this opportunity to also thank Matt, James, and Jess for being so kind as to doing this collaboration with us. Matt seems intimidating online but is a fun and warm person in the flesh, a super gifted all- natural fashion photographer whose sense of taste fits mine oh so perfectly (and shoots really fast!). James is a foxy and bubbly fairy god mother whose wands are his brushes, Im not exaggerating (keks and pastries-- right James?). And Jess, aside from being just plain beautiful, is probably the most candid model I've worked with-- she looks high profile but my god she changes in the car, wears and takes off anything, stands on nasty rocks, walks thru soil barefoot and happily does it all without a single complain. And she does all these while sober. :)) Im seryaaas, couldn't ask for a better team on this particular project!

Don't forget to check out the official catalogue tomorrow at 8:30!
Aaaand here's to the team. (Ninz behind camera) :

BLINDxx Creations opens on Summer 2012! :)

Exactly 10 months ago, my sister Ninz and I (out from the immense love for fashion and the cute but honest desire to make our own living) opened Blind Clothing. What has long been an amusing idea in my head turned out to be an online reality on that 27th of May 2011. It was a product of our giddy late night talks over sheets and pillows. :)

10 months, and BLINDxx has been working its own way up slowly but surely providing personally hand-picked and styled classy, wearable, trendy but timeless and affordable items that cater to any fashion forward girl's sometimes-impulsive-appetite. (Raise your hands, guilty people!)

This March, BLINDxx takes it a step further as it branch out to its own creations line. From BLINDxx picks, we introduce BLINDxx creations. BLINDxx creations carry limited edition, ready-to-wear pieces that are premium designed and sewn in-house, blind style.
Summer is every fashionista's christmas... a celebration from the most talked about in-season pastels, to the color block and print that a lot of us still can't get over. That's why it is our season of choice.

Join us as we launch BLINDxx creations with an editorial entitled : SECRETS AT SEA
featuring the clothes from our creations line with 4 pioneering simple but flattering designs-- in different colors, with not more than 2 pieces per item. It is also with great pride and fabulous honor that we announce that this is in collaboration with our favorite young trail blazers in the local scene: Matt Aesthetic and James Canete.

As much as I was itching to post more, I can only leave you with this dear readers. :))
Straight from Matt's Screen. Love, yes?

You are invited! In sisterly lovin, Join us in the ff:
