Jollibee, Bumble bee, tutubi. I have a new bee love. Ladies and gentlemen,
Bubble bee Tea House.
I've been seeing this place in my friends' pages and finally last June, I got to visit it myself.
It was during the Elim Singles Gathering, the second I've attended so far. It was a fun cozy night of fellowship, food and friends. The ambiance was soothing, the milk teas were fun to drink ( how inappropriate), the pasta aldente, the company was superb, the place was.. exciting!
About the place. Oh the place.
What I like about it most is its zen interior. I always swore to myself that one day, I'd make my room a tropical zen haven. Yes, a spa but with real bed! haha. and I mean aromatic incense, chimes, neutral colors splashed with citrus here and there, warm lights, stones, pebbles, candles, abacca and polystyrene balls. Wood. Woven accents. Eastern accessories. aaaand the kat is daydreaming again! Where does my drafting table even fit in this equation :)) It just has a way of tickling my senses and invigorating my soul. much like delicious flavored body scrubs and body butters. Yum!
So Bubblebee..
In the ground floor, The first thing I saw were the pretty lanterns. If you were in my youth design team you'd know I'm a huge fan of japanese lanterns. They look pretty as they are, and again they make your knees weak when they light up.

Photos by Tyne. Thanks tyne! (I begged her to take shots of the lanterns
over and over and over again until I was satisfied =)) ) |
Inside, it's much like a yogurt or cupcake place. Lights were cool white with homey warm pin lights at the counter, sprinkled with pastel accents (accents in the form of jars, milk tea powder, lanterns, straw, gel, glass, seat cushions, circle patterns) and blue cove lighting.

When I went up the mysterious narrow stairs...
...I was surprised to see a whole new different look. There were lounges, huge throw pillows and very citrus walls in lime, fuschia, and tangerine. Carpets, wood laminates, and glass walls with cascading water all over the place! What got me was that it (the ground and second floor) may have looked entirely different, but there wasn't a sense of "clashing" at all. The experience was still there, continuous and full of pleasant surprises. Here are a few photos from that night. :)
