Say Konnichiwa to Summer with #MakeYourOwnHavaiianas2016 !

I dig everything customized. Who doesn't? From furniture, to clothes, to food, it's always a fun idea being able to have something made, custom built to your very own taste and preference. This April, we get the annual chance of customizing our own flip flops with a theme that features one of my most favorite places in sooo many ways-- Japan! Your own sole profile, own sole color, own strap, own pins, everything that screams YOU--with the Havaiianas touch and the kawaii twist. :)

There are many things to look forward to in April. One of the hottest months of the year brings with it the biggest and most anticipated customization event in the country, Make Your Own Havaianas. From April 22 to May 1, step into a celebration of self-expression and creativity inside All Flip Flops SM Seaside City at the lower ground floor of the mall’s Mountain Wing and mix and match buttery-soft, colorful soles with vibrant straps and fun pins.

Havaianas was born in Brazil in 1962, but an interesting fact is that the very first flip-flop was inspired by the Zori, a type of Japanese sandal made of fabric straps and rice straw roles. Today, Havaianas flip-flops show marks of these iconic rice patterns, making it a fusion of eastern Zen and western joy.

Each year, MYOH highlights a destination or theme that celebrates its heritage or encapsulates the ‘always summer’ state of mind and on its 11th year, it is its Japanese roots that MYOH pays tribute to, from this year’s 2016 limited edition commemorative sole inspired by Shibori, a Japanese fabric-dyeing technique, to its selection of kawaii pins. With Japan being an all-time favorite summer destination of Cebuano Havaianaticos, embellishments such as the The Sakura, Ramen, The Japanese Fan, The Empress, The Zori, Ninja and statement pins, among others celebrate the love for travel and the land of the rising sun’s unique lifestyle and influence on today’s pop culture.

Let your creativity bloom like the season’s cherry blossoms and share your Make Your Own Havaianas experience at #MYOHCEBU2016 and #MYOH2016. For more details, check out Havaianas Philippines on Facebook and @Havaianasphils on Instagram and Twitter. Register online and try out the many ways you can personalize your flip-flops at http://myoh.havaianasphilippines.com/.

Ahh! Don't you just love summer.

So, if you were a pair of flip-flops what would you be? What would you look like? I'd like to know! See you all at All Flip Flops, SM Seaside! :)

Opposites Attract

Opposites attract, they say.  To me it doesn't only apply with people but also in fashion: like how black with white is a classic favorite,  how tight looks great with loose. But more interestingly, how these dense leather pants can make a good match for my light linen beach top.

I couldn't believe how this Aga Mulach top (as we fondly call it, lol) has been a closet staple of mine for years now--to think, I just got it from my Pop's closet. I used to pair this top with washed denim/ printed/ombre/colored shorts, but today for the first time I tried something different and I like how relaxed but chic it turned out. I folded my leggings to make the look more casual--it is after all a holiday today. I think I'll wear this again on a weekend meeting someday. Seems like the type. Oh and I don't know if its age, but what took me so long to realize the beauty of a good office bag?

I've been contemplating lately about my true identity (OA. Fashion wise at least. Haha.) and realized just last night after going through a fashion book my Japanese client gave me, that I am most comfortable in laid back, effortless chic fashion. Ofcourse, that's with a hint of playful festival fashion (because I was once a bohemian kid, part of me will always be). I'm always so drawn to Rumi Neely, Kate Bosworth, Alessandra Ambrosio, Olivia Palermo. So perhaps more of that in the coming days. Don't kill me for repeating adjectives then, I don't think I'll find find other words to describe it.

Today is a holiday where I'm from and on my itinerary was some light and easy work time in a coffee shop with the boyfriend. Leaving this coffee shop now (where I stayed in all afternoon) to grab dinner.

It was a good day.

The Kick-Off

In my first post of the year, I told you guys about the big triumph followed by a big heartbreak we wrestled with at BLINDxx. at the end of last year. After my board exams and a bit of recovery period months after, Ninz and I decided it's time we got back on track and use the theft incident as an inspiration for us to work better and harder.

So here, as unemotional as I wish to be about the whole thing, I'm baring my heart and soul to thank everyone who still came and dropped by our page last week. It was our kick-off for the year. More than just order forms, it meant all the joy in the world to us knowing that people were still around. Really! For those who didn't get to come, we were holding a clearance sale to clear out all our stocks and make room for new pieces (both BLINDxx picks and BLINDxx creations)--- a bigger, better (and more active) BLINDxx this 2013. I'm excited to show you guys everything we've been putting together to fill your closets with only classy, trendy, good quality apparel. You have no idea how far we go just to try and get you the best stuff. :)

If you haven't viewed our sale album, you can check it out here. There are a couple of items still available. Stay tuned and hope to see you all on our facebook page.  Also, follow us on instagram and twitter @blindxxclothing .

Until next time!<3

We'll get there someday.

I tried hiding in happy colors. You know, those days you wsh your day would magically turn as happy as the colors you're wearing. And it doesn't really. Well, atleast you looked nice. This day I wanted to wear somehing young and really relaxed (default saturday morning look) but not too dressed down. Beacuse If there's anything I didn't want to feel that day, it was unspecial.

The itinerary was review + casual dinner with cousins + hangout with girl friends last Saturday. And although, I had really good company throughout the day, the bad news I got that week still got the best of me. I dont know if it shows in my photos. I got over it somehow, now more graceful in defeat, and aware of myself.. what I can't do, what I want.

:)

Crochet vest: Blind Clothing
I never realized how much of a staple a plain white crochet vest for a bohemian- enthusiast until I decided to keep this item to myself. It spruces up any outfit, gives it a boho touch, while keeping things fresh and classy. Not to mention, it makes sphagetti-strap dresses and cleavage- betraying tank extra decent when needed. Lol.

I also enjoyed making dad's vintage shades my pendant. Haha. Added cool factor.

shoes: thrift shop
I purposefully bought these shoes because they're rugged enough to go on a casual dinner date, yet since they have heels, you can never wear be underdressed.  In 2 inches, they're comfortable too.

I like how genuinely vintage it looks. I got while waiting to be picked up by my mom one night. Proud! *taps back

Tequila Sunrise Ombre shorts: OhMyDarling
I just love how interesting the colors are. I can almost eat them. The fit is great too.
I won't lie, I am so inlove with this trend. Although it's harder to find a pair for these (harder than printed, for me atleast) when you do, it's totally worth it.
---------------------------------

You may have noticed how I always take outfit shots around the house. I'm still not brave enough to take them out in the streets. But I want to. Bloggers are about street style, after all. But here, I tried something new for you guys:

Tadaa! I know, It's an instagram shot and it doesnt count so much but atleast I tried. Haha.
It's a good start. Even this was hard. Thanks to Buddy for doing these shots with me :))

A simple tumblr-ish photo I made for you and for myself while writing this post. Keep those heads up and those shoes walking. Nothing's ever too far.
I hope I didn't make anyone sad while reading this. Haha. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend! :)

Meow!

Hi Society, Im Ever-Young.

All flowers spring as she passes and open if she glances upon them; and all birds sing at her coming. She dwells in gardens filled with golden flowers and often comes to the forests.

Pardon me for the really corny title. Here are a couple of outfits I modelled for our rtw line's previous release: Ever Young. It's a collection inspired by tranquility, solace, purity, youth, innocence and nature. We kind of had the spirit of Pocahontas moving through this shoot, a youngger and Asian one atleast. Heeh.

Home-made shoots like this give me and my sister a chance to experiment with concepts without pressure. It allow us to have fun playing dress-up like we did back when we were kids.

All items have been sold out but new ones have been out just last night. Don't forget to visit our page and check them out! :)

Photos above are photographed by Ninz Sy
 Modelled, Post-Prcoessed by yours truly
Styled by us both.

Mind Over All

Aha! I've always wanted to try this pose! :))

sleek back detail

purse detail
I like cropping faces

                                   hello :)

Overalls: Ibiza (vintage, mom's old piece)
Accessories: Downtown
Pumps: Janilyn
Purse: Liz Claiborne

Hype this look here!

Incase you were wondering, yes this jumpsuit gave me a hard time peeing. I always had to unzip everything down before I could "liberate" myself. I hope it looks like it's worth the hassle. :))

Yesterday I went to a baptism and dinner reception, instead of going for the usual lacey and romantic look, I opted to go chic in a classic tailored one-piece with a monotony that is interrupted by bits of colored (but minimal) accessories. Nothing over the top for me, as usual. I like to play it easy but interesting.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOT IMPORTANT :

On a more serious note... While I am writing this outfit post (the first since early April), I can't help but feel sentimental because I know it will take just as long for me to post my next entry. And I enjoy making blog entries-- so much. So, I'm off to 7- month hiatus to take and retake "certain exams"-- that means apprenticeship on weekdays, gym and study on weeknights, review on weekends. Thats spells less time for friends, family vacation, blogging and BLINDxx.  It may sound too overrated, I wish it was. Have you ever had that feeling when you can't, for the life of you, afford to make mistakes within within a certain period of time anymore? I, as an adult, am due. Due for making realistic choices, sound priorities and real sacrifices; the kind that will make a 180 degree turn on my life. (#char #adulthood issues)

Must improve time management skills, yes? :)) If not, there's always instagram. Hee. I so hope you guys still keep checking the blog somehow, despite the gaps in between. It always means a lot to me :) Okay everyone, students and non-students enough drama and back to work! Haha!

Im alright, Im alright, over all.
Pun intended.
Goodnight, loves!
xx

Halfway Through

Dreamcatchers in all sorts. Colorful bands. Semi precious gems. Brown Leather. Tri color bracelets.

Blazer: Maldita
Tank: Greenhills Bazaar
Sling Bag: A present from Hana
Skirt: Forever21
Strappies: Forever 21
Necklace: WE Empire (long) Sister's (short)
Bracelets: Random

Hype here , maybe? :)

Half corporate in a blazer. Half casual in a tank.
Half safe with my palette. Half playful with my trinkets.

This is me at my rawest, at my most candid.
For days when you feel like closing your organizer and setting your itinerary list aside to spend a peaceful, dandy afternoon at the gym, a waxing salon, and watch a good movie with your best friend.
That day, I did nothing. Almost nothing, at least.

#Love long weekends.
:)
